It isn’t everyday that you see a house burning and all of the firefighters standing in front of the place smiling as a photographer snaps photos.
I had the privilege of travelling with a crew of firefighters from Richland Center Fire Department to join Cazenovia Fire Department for a training house burn. To sit in a room and see first hand how fire works its way up the wall and across the ceiling, or to feel the intense multiple hundred degree heat through my mask and gear, these are things I will not quickly forget. And my singed helmet will certainly never look the same again.
